DESCRIPTION:
Ted Burleigh, Winchester, Mass., "Girandole" wall clock 8 day time only weight driven movement in gold leafed mahogany case with reverse painted convex throat and lower glass tablets and painted metal dial, c1990
CONDITION:
in outstanding and original condition. Consulting case maker Lawrence England Jr., formerly of Winchester, MA, who did all the cases for Burleigh's banjos and girandoles we have determined that this piece was assembled and completed after Ted's death by Foster Campos, who bought the remaining inventory from Ted's estate. This is evidenced by the weight stamped Foster Campos and the substitution of Burleigh's standard presentation banjo dial we see on this clock for the one he usually used on his Girandoles, which would have L. Curtis above the center arbor. The movement is by C.A. Lenderman. Ht 46"
